Help Falkor While Helen Recuperates

Hi! My name is Ben Willis, and my wife Helen and I just rescued a wonderful new puppy, which we named after the luck dragon in the NeverEnding Story - Falkor. He’s the most lovable puppy we’ve ever seen, even though he is still quite the handful.

This has become more true than ever, because yesterday my wife Helen accidentally broke her foot! We’re not sure yet what the doctor will say, but it’s likely she will have to stay off her feet for at least a week if not longer, and then she’ll still need to wear a boot and be careful on her feet for weeks after. This is an unfortunate time for this to happen, as we are only three weeks into having this boy, and he is still being trained. Now, we will need to find a willing dog walker to help us out with walking him at times when I am unavailable to walk him.

We are fortunate to handle the medical costs, as we have decent healthcare. However, we are looking at some unforeseen costs with the extra care for the dog at such an important time in his development. Extra help with walking is all we are asking for at this moment, so that I can get some much needed relief (and avoid breaking MY foot), and Helen can focus on healing.

This isn’t a massive bill we will be undertaking, so whatever little amount you can give will help us immensely. Yesterday was a tough day, and involved Falkor being left alone while we were at the hospital. It really confused him and we could see that it impacted the hard, hard work we’ve put into training him to trust us. The next few weeks are going to be a long road for all three of us, and we love and appreciate the support you can give at this crucial time.
