We are raising money to help pay for Falkor’s hip surgeries. He needs what is called an FHO surgery due to a genetic hip issue. This is where they remove the entire femoral head , and muscles will hold his leg / hip together. He is recommended to have both sides done. The quotes we have gotten for this are $5-7k. We have a consultation in soon which will go over options and final estimates.
Any little amount helps. Thank you so much!
He is only 7years old and I want to give him the best chance at a long life. Currently, he is on daily pain meds to help manage until we save the funds for this surgery.
Thank you for reading our story ❤️
UPDATE:
It’s been about 8 months since his original X-rays. We have repeated them and learned the femoral heads on BOTH hips are completely out of socket.
I have found a wonderful vet that will be able to complete a bilateral FHO surgery at a lower cost than our original quote. Surgery will also be followed up by weeks of rehab and therapy to teach Falkor how to walk and use his back legs again.
He deserves to run on the beach pain free again.
Every $1 or share really helps us be able to get this done for him.
