Hi, my name is Fakorede Blessing. I’m an international student pursuing a nursing degree with a 3.4 GPA. I’m fully registered for the upcoming semester, but if I don’t pay my next monthly installment of $2,585, I’ll be dropped from my classes. I currently owe $17,707 in tuition.
As an international student, I’m limited in the type of jobs I can legally work. Even though I’ve worked every summer, fall, and winter break, what I earn barely covers my basic needs; food, rent, school supplies, and feminine necessities.
I’ve applied to multiple scholarships, including women in STEM programs, but so far, I haven’t been selected. Still, I continue to apply and hope.
Nursing isn’t just a profession for me it’s personal.
I lost my father when I was 10. Though we didn’t grow up together, his passing left a painful gap in my life. That grief, along with my own health experiences, sparked a deep desire to care for others. My dream is to become a nurse who gives back not just to patients, but to the communities that raised and supported me.
My mom, my uncle, and his family have helped me come this far, but I’ve reached a point where I need support beyond them. I’ve reached out to many people and organizations and now I’m turning to the kindness of this community.
Please help me stay in school and continue pursuing my dream.
Whether it’s a donation, a share, a repost every action makes a difference. Your support could be the reason I cross the finish line and become the nurse I’ve worked so hard to become.
Thank you so much for believing in me.
With love,
Blessing
