Help Faith on Her Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On Thursday, October 19th around 5:30pm, Faith was struck by a vehicle on the corner of Hawaii Kai Drive and O’okala Street near 7-11. Luckily, a group of kind ladies saw what happened and immediately rushed to her aid. By this time, most vet clinics in the area were closed for the day. Faith was rushed to the Kaimuki Veterinary Urgent Care where she was immediately given iv fluids and pain meds and had X-rays performed to find out the extent of her injuries. Miraculously, no fractures were noted on the first X-rays, but she was still unable to use her legs, we were worried about spinal trauma, which would also affect her brain. We prayed all night that her spirits would brighten the next day. And our prayers were answered. The next morning, she was eating, wagging her tail and begging for pets. She was able to move her back legs and her right front, though it was very painful. Her left front leg however, is still nonfunctional. But her doctor thinks there is a good chance at least some feeling will return eventually. Her right front leg was so painful that they took more X-rays, focusing on her right front arm. This time, they noticed a fracture on her right scapula. The following Wednesday, she saw a board certified surgeon who thinks she will be able to heal on her own without surgery! Unfortunately, she did not have a microchip. And after numerous attempts and posts and found reports filed, we have still not been able to locate her owner. But Faith’s blessings just keep coming, for one of the kind ladies that stopped to help her that fateful day, would like to adopt her. We are currently just fundraising for her visit and 3 night stay at the urgent care, and we can provide receipts. Faith is a fighter, and has not given up on life, so we won’t be giving up on her.
