My name is Heather and I’m raising funds to help my daughter, Faith, attend her first year at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she plans to study Art Education (minor: Special Education).

About Faith

Faith is 18 years old. She is kind, loving, giving, selfless, devoted, and compassionate. She loves art and creating — painting, drawing, and making things that bring color and care into the world. She’s an incredible, hardworking kid who dreams of becoming an art teacher so she can inspire children, including those with special needs, the way she’s inspired others.

Her health story

Faith was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation in 2022 and had brain decompression surgery in November 2022. After a period of recovery, she began experiencing a relapse and is now dealing with worsening symptoms again. Managing her health has been a heavy, ongoing challenge — physically, emotionally, and financially.

Why we’re fundraising

Our goal is $21,000, which will cover Faith’s one year of tuition at Indiana University of Pennsylvania so she can focus on healing and learning, not on how to pay for school. Scholarships and aid have not covered the full cost, and because of medical setbacks and difficult family circumstances, we are facing a gap we cannot cover on our own.

It breaks our hearts that we can’t fully provide this for her right now. Faith doesn’t deserve to worry about how to pay for college — she deserves to reach for her stars. Your support will help remove that burden and allow her to pursue the degree she’s passionate about: becoming an art teacher who supports and uplifts students, including those with special needs.

How donations will be used

All funds will go directly to cover Faith’s college tuition and required fees for the year at IUP. If there are any remaining funds after tuition, they will be used for essential education-related costs (books, supplies, and medical needs related to her condition while at school).
