In the last few days, we have heard one of the saddest stories. The story of Faith Danielle Piel has broken many hearts.

Faith and her late brother were abandoned by their mother when they were very young. Raised by a single father, they found comfort in each other’s embrace, especially when their father remarried. The bond between a brother and sister, especially when there are only two of them, is deep and unbreakable.

Their father passed away in 2024. After his passing, Faith moved to Brisbane, Australia to pursue her studies, leaving her brother behind. Her plan was to bring him to Australia to study once she secured a full time job and became settled. Those plans were already underway.

His birthday was coming up, and being his only sibling, Faith began collecting every gift he had asked for, including the newly released Samsung S26. Tragically, he will never live to see those gifts, and Faith will never see his big, happy smile again.

He tragically took his own life and passed away in Port Moresby.

He lived through many struggles and endured so much pain. His only support system was his sister, and after their father’s passing, he was also her only source of strength and support.

Now, Faith is alone in Brisbane with no remaining family in Papua New Guinea. Her only brother lies cold in a morgue.

We need to help Faith get home to her brother. Let us make it possible for her to say a final goodbye, to give him one last kiss, even though he will not feel it anymore. Even though he will never know how deeply this has broken his sister’s heart, it is important that we help her return home to lay him to rest.
