Help Faith achieve her dream at drama school
Hi, my names Faith Holden, I am a musical theatre performer and student. I have just finished a level 4 HNC musical theatre course. I have already completed my 2 year BTECH level 3 extended diploma in musical theatre at Pendleton college too.
My passion is performing, anyone who knows me will tell you I never stop singing, at work, at home, in Asda, I can’t stop myself. My love for theatre started in year 7 when I went to watch wicked in London on the west end for the first time. In that moment I was speechless (a first for me) and I knew that’s what I needed to do, it was my purpose. One day I want to make some little girl in the audience feel the way I did when watching that performance. From there on out I dedicated all my time and effort into performing, I auditioned for the school choir, I performed at every parents evening, charity and event and I was given main roles in the school musicals, such as Velma in Chicago, scaramouch in WWRY and the orphan in Annie. Outside of school I stared performing in pubs and clubs and at our town festivals every year. I fell in love with performing and being on stage- it’s where I feel most at home !
This year I applied for universities and drama schools and I have been lucky enough to gain a place on the 2 year diploma course at the MTA and the one year at PPA. I was honoured and ecstatic.
As many of you know I accepted my place at the MTA, sadly they are now closing down after this academic year. Thankfully the PPA has been so inviting and understanding and have offered me my original place on the one year intensive course. This will be a once in a-life time opportunity and I can’t wait to further my training and work on my weaknesses to become a more well rounded performer
This still costs £10500 tuition and I will need to afford to live in London with no funding from the government.
so I must provide the money myself. I have been working tirelessly for the past 8 years to get to where I am today and I am soo close to achieving my dreams.
I am a carer for my mum, who is unfortunately ill and we are as a family are not in a position where this course is affordable. The MTA is amazing and so supportive so I have no doubt they will help me make it more affordable but as of now I have two weeks to pay my deposit in order to accept my place. My family are extremely supportive and have helped me as much as they can.
I have had a job since the age of 14, I have beena barmaid, counter staff, an entertainer, a glass-collector, a Disney princess, a party host and a waitress. I currently work at a nightclub/bar as a barmaid and I’m working as many shifts as possible along side my course to afford the course and the cost of living I London. Sadly due to the pandemic I haven’t been able to work for a year and a half and like so many others it has took a toll on me financially so I haven’t been able to save the money I need.
I have been working 2 jobs - 60+ hours 6-7 days a week. But sadly the costs are too high for me to do this alone.
Since the pandemic I am very aware of the pressures people have faced and are currently still facing since COVID-19 hit. Please know that any donations, no matter how big or small will help me achieve my dreams and I will be eternally grateful to each and everyone of you for helping me achieve this.
