My name is Jody-Kay Grant, my mom, Faite Turner was in Jamaica when Hurricane Melissa struck, and she experienced the very worst of it. Her home, my grandmother’s home, and much of the St. Elizabeth community has been completely destroyed.

Families are left with nothing — no roof over their heads, no food to eat, no clothes to wear, and no way to begin rebuilding their lives. My mom, grandmother and close family have lost everything they’ve worked so hard for, and the entire community is struggling to survive and recover.

Due to no service lines and no electricity, my mom hasn’t been able to send us any photos yet — communication has been extremely limited, and we’re relying on updates from neighbors and family members nearby.

I’m asking for your help to provide essential supplies, food, clothing, and materials to rebuild. Every dollar, no matter how small, will directly support my family and others in New Market, St. Elizabeth as they try to put the pieces of their lives back together.
