Help Faisol Reunite with His Family Amidst the Sudan Crisis

Dear Friends and Kind Supporters,

We are urgently reaching out to you with a plea to help Faisol reunite with his wife, Susan and four daughters Rahab (22), Nadia (15), Sana (9) and Omoima (8), as they attempt to escape the harrowing civil war in Sudan.

The civil war in Faisol's home country has escalated, spreading chaos and fear to Kosti, Sudan, the city his family once called home. With the rebels encroaching, the city’s 300,000 residents, including his family, have been forced to evacuate to South Sudan. Faisol has managed to cover the initial costs for their escape.

In Juba City, South Sudan, Faisol's family has found temporary refuge with relatives. He is set to join them on January 13th to assist with the next leg of their journey to safety.

Sadly, Faisol's eldest son, Malik (24), has come of age, which requires him to apply separately due to Australian Government regulations. Time is of the essence as by May 2024, he faces the risk of his eldest daughter Rahab, 'aging out' of the process as well, which would prevent her from joining the rest of her family in Australia.

Currently, Faisol's family has been allowed visas to come to Australia but the costs involved to bring this to action are a significant financial burden.

A breakdown of the financial needs:

Flights from Juba City to Nairobi: $2,600 AUD
Medical, Police, Criminal Checks, and Fingerprints: $7,000 AUD
Flights to Australia: $10,500 AUD
Setup costs in Australia (Rent, Food and Education): Unknown

Total Amount Needed: $20,000 AUD

"Your contribution can make all the difference in bringing my family to safety and starting a new life in peace. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us a step closer to reuniting and escaping the turmoil that has upended our lives."

With heartfelt gratitude,

Faisol

Further background on Faisol:

Faisol has settled in Australia, working in aged care, trying to save up enough money to help his family escape. Unfortunately, a back injury has stopped him from gaining a constant income, making it even more difficult to help his family. He now works casually, while receiving some government assistance. Faisol has been an active member of the Australian community, as a leader and a volunteer in organisations such as St Vincent de Paul.

We ask for your help

While there are so many families like Faisol’s, we have an opportunity right now to help one directly. Please share their story, support our cause, and be a part of their journey to safety and a brighter future.

We are committed to transparency and accountability, and we will provide updates on how the funds are utilised and the progress of our family's reunion.

Thank you,

Faisol's Support Group (Olivia, Grady, Margaret, Tom, Maureen, Wayne, Ursula)
