Help A Trans Artist's Name Change & Medical Debt

Donation protected

An independent trans cartoonist needs your support! I have been illustrating and cartooning, making zines and posting art online for half my life. I am currently working on some cocktail recipe zines.

Exhibiting at shows like Indigenous Comic Con(now IndigiPopX) and Small Press Expo was very important to my young artistic career. Like many artists I lost hundreds on convention cancellations in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic hitting America. This forced me to work long hours at my day job while spending my money to ensure my co-workers and I had adequate PPE and hygiene products like soap. This job was physically taxing and concluded in August, leaving me without reliable income. During it, I was unable to focus on my work as a cartoonist and illustrator, including being unable to replace tools and supplies as needed, and also left me unable to continue to the costly filing I had been pursuing prior to the pandemic for my legal name change and gender marker, being a mid-transition trans man. I live with two immunocompromised or high-risk people. Being able to focus on producing commissions, prints, zines and other products to draw income from my art puts them at significantly lower risk.

Funds raised would be utilized to
-Pay off medical debts
- To replace supplies such as drafting tools, restock consumable ones like ink and paper, and pay for hardware and software necessary, including reference and research sites and image editing software.
- To pay for costs of living; such things as clothing, prescriptions, medical co-pays, bills, and food
- Any transition-related costs including my name change, updating my birth certificate, and replacing my ID and passport

You can find some of my work available for purchase at https://ko-fi.com/fahz/shop, original drink recipes at https://drinkacefahz.tumblr.com/ and I am working on turning  https://twitter.com/Inkfaceart into a more comprehensive archive of my projects, including my semipro fanwork, my 2017 MT Wildfire Relief charity zine "Skyless", as well as eventually an upcoming print series focused on Indigenous characters in comics, games and manga, and several comics in progress eventually to be published digitally and hopefully, in the future, as physical media. Every little bit helps! After six months as an essential worker in impossibly stressful conditions, your generosity, compassion, and aid is essential to protect my family and allow me to refocus on my real career.
