My name is Fabiola Morales, and I would have never imagined I would be in this position. My husband, Jose Campos, was detained by ICE on 12/18/25 at 8am. This took place at Home Depot in La Quinta as he was heading out after buying materials to continue building our future home. He is currently being held at an ICE detention center.

My husband was the sole provider for our children, and without his support, the kids and I would have to face financial hardships. He is the only one who works from the family to support us, while I take care of our 8-month-old baby. On top of the financial support needed for my family, I am still in the process of trying to find legal representation for my husband, but it is very expensive to afford one.

I am trying to ease the situation for my children, but it is not easy. My 5 year old is now picking up on everything and has started to understand the unfortunate reality that we are living in. I am still trying to keep my children feeling the holiday spirit and try to keep things as normal as they can be. His two older kids, who are in their teens, know the harsh reality of what is going on with their father, and I want to put my best foot forward to help them as best as I can.

Our children miss their father every day, and I am doing my best to be strong for them. No kid should see their father be taken away from their lives. It is very difficult and no one should ever go through something like this.

The financial burden has become very overwhelming for me to handle.

Estoy tratando de aliviar esta situación para mis hijos, pero no es fácil. Mi hijo de 5 años ha comenzado a darse cuenta de lo que está sucediendo y entiende la dura realidad que estamos viviendo. Aun así, sigo intentando que mis hijos mantengan el espíritu de las fiestas y que las cosas se sientan lo más normal posible. Sus dos hijos mayores, que están en su adolescencia, conocen la dura realidad de lo que está pasando con su padre, y quiero dar lo mejor de mí para apoyarlos y estar para ellos en todo lo que pueda.

Nuestros hijos extrañan a su padre todos los días, y estoy haciendo todo lo posible por mantenerme fuerte por ellos. Ningún niño debería ver cómo su padre es separado de su familia. Es una situación muy difícil, y nadie debería pasar por algo así.
