As many of you know, my husband Fabio suffered a stroke in January.  His stroke left him unable to speak or move.  After five months in the hospital and in in-patient rehabilitation, Fabio came home in June.  He received one month of in-home rehabilitation and is currently attending the day institute through SSM in Arnold.  At that time, when his rehab began, he could only move his right thumb and could not even open his mouth.  He is now moving all extremities and he is able to vocalize.  Unfortunately, our insurance visits for rehab will be ending and he will have to do his rehabilitation at home.  He still requires 100% assistance as he cannot sit or stand on his own.  He has been able to use a treadmill while in a harness and with therapists moving his legs.  Gait training is essential to recovery and his muscles are responding.  Only through continued exercise, will he make gains.  This is where we need your help!  There is a piece of equipment that can help Fabio stand and eventually walk.  At full price, it costs $8000 or above depending on the vendor.  I am able to get one for $4000.  Because I cannot work and my insurance premium is $2200 per month, I am asking for any help in buying this essential equipment to continue his recovery.  We have already had to ask my parents to move in and they are taking care of all of the bills since Fabio's disability covers the insurance premium and nothing else.  

We realize that many of you have already given to our cause we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  You have helped us pay medical bills and buy needed medical supplies.  We hope that our journey and all we have learned can someday be of help when one of you is in need.  As you know, Fabio is the most kind and giving person and he is humbly grateful for all you have done.  He doesn't even know I am asking as we have always worked hard to pay our own way.  For those that wish to donate no matter how small, thank you.  For those that are unable, we understand.
