I haven't ever been a person to seek and ask for help, but currently, I have my hands tied. My name is Fabio Vasquez, a father of 3 with 2 being toddlers. I have worked my entire life and continue to work even harder now for my kids as I’ve always been the sole provider. Long story short, I recently ruptured my disk in my lower back at work without knowing the severity and continued to work through it until I lost all functions of my back and legs. I reported the incident on the first day and when it reoccurred. Workman’s comp DENIED both cases even after an MRI and surgeon stated I need surgery as soon as possible to fix the ruptured disk and avoid permanent nerve damage. Unfortunately, with both cases being denied and not being able to sit, walk, nor stand for short periods of time, I am restricted to no work nor workman's comp benefits. With that being said, I haven't been paid in over a month with hopes it would have been approved.

My soon-to-be 3-year-old daughter gave me this idea as one day I was laying there in excruciating pain. She brought me a handful of change and said, "This money’s for you, Dad! To help fix your back." As I teared up, it dawned on me how strong one small gesture can be in rough times. I will use this money to help with bills, a deserved Christmas for my kids, and possibly start saving to pay for my own surgery. Taking sole financial pressure off my spouse as we've gone through any savings. I am asking for anything small as I know times are hard to help my little family in this time of need. Thank you!
