HELP FABIO SURVIVE CANCER

When I introduce people to Fabio, I always say “Don't you just love Fabio?"

The response is universal...”What's not to love?”

To know Fabio is to LOVE Fabio.

That being said, when his family in Brazil and all of his friends found out he had stage three throat cancer, our hearts sunk. At 48, our beloved Fabio is faced with the greatest fight of his life.

In fighting spirit, Fabio has been very optimistic even while facing the difficult challenge of receiving radiation therapy five days a week along with chemotherapy four hours once a week for seven weeks. Fabio has woken up every morning at 6am to go to radiation therapy (and chemotherapy), then straight to work. Even though it was draining his energy he wanted to show up for work everyday.

Unfortunately, this past week that all changed due to Fabio not being able to eat because of his inability to swallow and loss of appetite. He had lost 22 pounds and could not receive chemotherapy because his white blood cell count was too low. He was hospitalized immediately but continued to be brave, smiling and positive even after he was told he would need to go on a feeding tube for the next six weeks, barely having an immune system. Fabio has now taken a leave of absence from work and his full time job is to fight CANCER.

For those of of you who don't know Fabio...

Fabio is the guy who always shows up smiling and willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone who needs one. Generosity is his middle name.

He's truly Brazilian...colorful, joyful, friendly, funny and handsome. A hard worker since arriving in the US twenty years ago, he worked various jobs while learning English and ultimately landed a career in real estate and property management. Fabio proudly became an American citizen in 2015 and his friends were there with a two-sided flag proudly representing his dual Brazilian/American citizenship.

Fabio is a loving son, brother, friend and employee who makes everyone's life better. We want him to survive not only CANCER but the financial challenge of insurmountable medical bills that can cripple even the most optimistic.

Fabio has no knowledge of this effort to raise money on his behalf. I also know that Fabio is the first to give to any cause for someone in need. He demonstrates that in his everyday life. A life we want to continue...

Any amount can help from $1 and above. Thank you for reading his story thus far...
