Help Ezz get to Trinity College, Dublin

Ezzeldeen Alswerky or Ezz is from Gaza and participated in the School of Life Sciences Summer Research Program at EPFL in 2022. Since Oct 7th, his brother, his grandfather and his cousin have been killed. One member of his family has been kidnapped and some of his family have been separated and forced to march south.
His family business, family chicken farm and home have been destroyed. The family has been living without income for more than a year. He is in the north of Gaza and is enduring severe malnutrition, unsafe water, no medical facilities and winter weather.
The extraordinary thing about Ezz is that despite all the trauma and loss he is enduring, he keeps his eye on the ball. He refuses to give in to despair. Having graduated with a Bachelors in Science from the Islamic University of Gaza in September 2023, he seeks further training in the Life Sciences. During the bombardments, he applied for several jobs and Master’s programs with his phone. He received some positive responses and finally accepted an offer to work in a lab at Trinity College in Dublin; he was to start last November. The Irish are saving him his place.
Now it looks as if the fighting has stopped and people will be allowed to leave Gaza if they wish. He will need money for travel to Egypt, for his exit and entry visas, for his flight to Ireland, and to settle in Ireland. My starting goal was 3,500CHF. Having reached that goal, GFM has increased my goal to 7’000CHF
I will transfer the money to him once he is cleared to leave Gaza. Ezz is on an exit list; he just doesn’t know when that will happen.
I hope that you will join me in supporting this young researcher to start rebuilding his life.
