Help Ezra Purchase an Adaptive Mountain Bike
Hello, my name is Ezra Gabbert and I'm fundraising so that I may purchase a Hammerhead Off-Road Handcycle from ReActive Adaptions. For most of my life I have been heavily involved in adaptive athletics, from wheelchair basketball to sit-skiing, and only once I entered college did I find myself too occupied for the sports that I love. I have always wanted to pursue adaptive mountain biking as an athletic outlet, and now that I have graduated college I have both the time and drive to do just that. While I was born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, I have often struggled with the fact that much of what makes my home wonderful, its natural beauty, has been inaccessible to me due to my disability. If I were able to purchase this bike I would be able to access the best parts of Oregon (and anywhere else!), in new and meaningful ways, and finally be able to rage on all the trails that I have always wanted to. Purchasing this bike would greatly help me improve my physical health and athleticism, while also giving me the ability to explore in ways that I thought would forever be inaccessible. In pursuit of this bike I have been fortunate enough to receive a grant from the Challenged Athletes Foundation, yet the grant leave much of the cost of the bike uncovered, and as a recent college graduate heading in to a graduate program I am unable to afford it on my own. If you have read this far, I hope you will consider supporting and sharing this fundraiser!
