My name is Ezdihar Saleh, I’m 50 years old, from Gaza, and currently receiving treatment in Cairo, Egypt. I’m battling a rare and aggressive disease: thrombocytopenia caused by spleen cancer. This illness prevents my blood from clotting, causes severe anemia, and puts my life at constant risk.

Despite months of treatment and hospital visits across Egyptian hospitals, my condition continues to deteriorate. I rely on painkillers and endure sleepless nights and unbearable pain. Doctors here can no longer help. According to Professor Hossam Al-Ghouti, a hematology expert, I am only the 24th known case in the world and my only hope is advanced treatment in Europe, America, Canada, or Australia.

Tragically, while I fight for my life, my home in Gaza was destroyed by the occupation, and my husband and sons (Mohammed and Abdul Rahman) remain trapped in Gaza, waiting for the war to end. I’m currently in Cairo with my daughters Abeer, Nada, and Nagham, trying to survive and seeking any chance to get the proper care I need.

Since I was young, I’ve suffered from this disease. Each time I gave birth to my five children, doctors were called urgently due to my low platelets. Over the years, complications worsened, including uterine bleeding and spleen enlargement. I was referred to hospitals in Jerusalem, but Israeli restrictions prevented me from accessing those facilities.

Today, my survival depends on receiving surgery and care at a specialized international hospital, with costs estimated at $80,000–$90,000, and a possible stay of up to a year for full recovery. I dream of living long enough to see my daughters, Nada and Nagham, get married, and to be there for them in the future.
