My name is Eyerys, I am a local to Durham, NC who is neurodivergent, disabled, and chronically ill. I work with various marginalized communities in several nonprofit organizations  and work with young people to address inequities we and our loved ones' experience, as we build up actual representation as we are added more in decision making positions! 


Due to the state of my health it has been very difficult for me to stabilize due to my pre-existing undiagnosed conditions that seriously affect my daily living. Due to parts of my neurodivergent identity I have executive functioning issues which leads to needing extra help with daily responsibilities that even concern self maintenance. A good way for me to explain is that working is typically easy for me but to be able to have the energy after that to take care of myself the way I need to is tremendously difficult, and due to my lack of energy it may result in failure to take proper care of myself. 


I have realized that due to the severity of my current state that I need to change my environment, and seek better treatment methods, and support systems. I am currently in the process of getting proper documentation of my disabilities to be able to get the services that I am in need of, as well as attempting to enroll in school to pursue my interest in a more structured environment. 


The funds from this will go directly towards my daily care such as being able to get medication, pay for insurance to attend hospital visits and procedures, assist with housing and utility expenses for a year, and paying off previous medical debt incurred!

Also a recent development that has been going well is that due to the better state of my depression I have had the energy to invest more into my talents such as artistry, music, and spoken word. 

I am looking very forward to more stability and structure in my life, as it has been difficult to acquire and manage due to my circumstances.
