For the past 20 years, I have dedicated myself to supporting turtle rescue projects, working alongside passionate volunteers and organizations to protect these incredible creatures. When the pandemic hit in 2020, many rescue efforts were forced to pause, leaving vulnerable turtle nests without protection. Rather than let the work stop, we took on the challenges ourselves, continuing patrols and caring for nests even without the usual team of volunteers. Now, I run my own turtle rescue program in partnership with others, ensuring that turtle rescue efforts continue 365 days a year.

This year, 2026, has been a blessing. Thanks to countless hours and over 390 miles of beach patrol, we have secured 76 nests and protected 6,460 eggs. Our work doesn’t stop there—we also organize monthly beach cleanups to raise awareness and keep our beach a 'bandera azul' (blue flag) beach, a symbol of environmental excellence. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward expanding and maintaining our turtle egg nursery, purchasing supplies for egg care and incubation, and supporting the safe release of baby turtles. Additionally, your support will help us officially form a nonprofit organization, extend our permits, and cover the legal costs needed to grow our impact. We also hope to add an electric bike for more efficient patrols and, eventually, a vehicle to expand our project to other beaches.

So many people have offered to help over the years, and while we always welcome volunteers, this fundraiser is a way for everyone to make a difference—no matter where you are or how much free time you have. We’re also excited to expand our turtle adoption program, allowing donors to track their adopted turtle’s journey as it navigates the open waters.
