The La Cañada Engineering Club is a vibrant community hub for kids and youth ages 10–17, where future engineers and innovators come together to learn, build, and grow. Through the First Lego League (FLL), the club mentors and guides different teams as they design, build, and program robots. These amazing kids are not only learning about science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM), but also developing teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills that will serve them for life.

Right now, the club’s lab has been operating at full capacity. The space has been crowded with materials and equipment, making it difficult to safely accommodate all the teams who want to participate. Many eager kids are on the waitlist, hoping for a chance to join in the fun and learning.

Thanks to the incredible support of our community—and through close collaboration with La Cañada High School and district leadership—we’ve been able to take a major step forward. Instead of adding external storage, we have secured additional dedicated space within the school building for the Engineering Club.

This is a significant improvement. It will allow FLL teams to have dedicated workspace, reduce congestion, and create a safer and more effective learning environment for students.

Now, the focus shifts to making this new space fully functional.

Funds raised will be used to equip and organize the expanded space, including:

  • Work tables
  • Shelving systems
  • Storage cabinets
  • Stackable bins and organizers
  • Equipment carts and workspace improvements

These upgrades will allow us to safely store robotics equipment, improve workflow, and open the door for more students to participate.

While the approach has evolved, the goal remains exactly the same: to create a safe, organized, and inspiring environment where young engineers can learn and thrive.

Your support is directly helping us turn this new space into a fully functional robotics lab and expand opportunities for even more kids in our community.

Please consider donating to help us continue building a better future for our young innovators!
