Honeybee Forest School was created in May of 2022. Our director, Brie Muszynski, had at that time been working in outdoor education with Garden School Foundation for nearly a decade. Brie wanted to provide an opportunity for her child(ren) and others to be able to develop a connection with nature, whilst living in the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. Honeybee Forest School has used public spaces, such as the Audubon Center at Debs Park and Lower Arroyo Park for their programs for the past 4 years.
We are raising funds to expand our forest school into a nature based folk school, a space that will offer greater opportunities for community engagement and the ability to provide a variety of offerings. Our business has always been about connecting people with nature and ancestral skills, while fostering a sense of belonging. We aim to take that mission even further by creating a dedicated space for learning, growth, and togetherness.
The need for funds comes from our goal to acquire a permanent space and launch new programs that will benefit our community. With your support, We'll be able to purchase a location that can host more classes, workshops, and events, making nature and handwork education accessible to even more people. The funds will also help us develop new programs that encourage creativity, environmental stewardship, and lifelong learning.
Funding would provide an opportunity for us to bring my vision of a community space to life. Your support means the world to us and our family, and together we can create a place where everyone feels welcome and inspired. Thank you for considering a donation and for being part of this journey.
With love and gratitude,
Brie
