Help Expand Mineville’s Free Disc Golf Course to 18 Baskets!

The Mineville Disc Golf Course at Bennett Park was established in 2023 as a free, family-friendly place for everyone to get outside, get active, and have fun. Built and maintained entirely by volunteers, the course has also revitalized Bennett Park’s walking trails — redoing paths, clearing overgrowth, and cleaning up litter along the way.

With the initial 9 baskets funded by the Mineville Community Association, the course has become a beloved part of our community — welcoming beginners, families, and players of all ages.

Disc golf is a wonderful, low-cost way to stay active. With just a single disc, anyone can enjoy the outdoors and have fun. Since opening, the Mineville course has seen incredible growth, with over 369 unique players completing 3,456 rounds, logging 2,749 recreation hours, and taking over 6.2 million steps! Improved trail maintenance has also benefited the recreation of countless non-disc golfing visitors to the park.

Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, plans are underway to expand the course from 9 baskets to a full 18 — creating a richer, more complete experience for all players. The expansion has been approved by HRM Parks, and three new holes have already been added with borrowed temporary baskets.

Now, we need your help!

We’re aiming to raise $6,400 to purchase 9 permanent baskets to complete the expansion. All work will continue to be carried out by volunteers, with a goal to finish the project by October 2025.
