KBSVHS is looking to move toward a bigger space! This would allow for a wider variety in stock as well as create an even better customer experience.
The current space has been great but it's also very tight with media packed into every possible nook and cranny. I would love to be able to better display items and curate even more titles for the shelves. The small space keeps things very limited and doesn't allow for more than a couple customers at a time. I also can't display all of the stock I have, which limits what I'm able to sell at any given time.
My current location is within Clinton Row Shops, which has spaces of various sizes and I'd love to remain in this complex, but new spots can become available at the last minute, which means I'd need to have money set aside to jump on an ideal opportunity.
This business launched as a pop-up and became a brick-and-mortar shop when I encountered an open space available at Clinton Row in June 2024. All of that happened out-of-pocket because the time felt right and I didn't want to let the chance pass by without giving it a shot. The shop has already seen a few revisions in the time I've been set up in the current space, as I'm always wanting to create the best possible environment for those looking to browse the shelves.
Funds collected here would be used to:
- Create further financial stability in this micro-business with a consistently growing customer base
- Secure a new space and cover the overlap in rent as I'd need to stay open in my current space while I prepare a new location
- Cover costs of fixture expansions and design elements (paint, lighting, etc)
This store is a basic physical media shop but it has also served as a wonderful source of connection for movie lovers here in Huntsville. An expansion would ideally include space for small film discussion groups and other cinema related meet-ups.
