Cloudy Bay Supergroms are fundraising to support the much-needed expansion of the Alonnah Skatepark - and we’d love your help!
This project is being driven entirely by Bruny Island community groups, with no external funding. The Supergroms and many local kids use the skatepark regularly, but the current setup is too small and no longer safe for the number of people using it. With 56 active members (and a few enthusiastic adults!), the demand has outgrown the space.
In partnership with Kingborough Council and a professional skatepark designer, we’re planning a thoughtful extension that includes a dedicated area for younger children to safely learn and enjoy skating.
We’re eager to get construction underway and make the most of this momentum to create a safer, more inclusive space for our island community. Local groups have already pledged their support - now we’re asking for yours to help us get over the line.
Where Your Support Goes
Your donations will help cover the essential costs to make the skatepark extension happen, including:
Labour – $18,000 (3 weeks of skilled concreting & machine operation)
Concrete – $7,710
Reinforcement steel – $2,665
Formwork & prep materials – $2,197
Ferry transport – $1,125
The Bruny Island Penguins Cricket Club have already contributed $10,000. And BICA and Bruny Island Cork Club have both committed to contribute $5,000 each. We are so close!
Every dollar brings us closer to creating a safe, exciting space for our kids to skate, play, and grow.
