Help Evynne Empower Women's Reproductive Choices

Hi, I'm Evynne Ondatje, and I'm working on a Capstone project to culminate the year. My Capstone project focuses on women's reproductive rights, specifically abortion rights in the U.S. Abortions are important because they allow women to make safe decisions about their bodies and health.

Boulder Valley Health Center is one of the first abortion clinics in Colorado and was established in 1973 after the Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade. Roe v. Wade was a court case that legalized abortions nationwide. This was recently challenged by another case called Dobbs v. Jackson; this case made abortions no longer legalized nationwide but instead gave states the decision to choose whether or not abortions could be legal. Today, many women face challenges due to these laws. Many women face mental struggles such as anxiety or depression and physical setbacks such as joint pain, headaches or migraines, and high blood pressure. Women who are denied abortions also experience economic challenges or setbacks. So, women live in poverty or experience bankruptcy.
