Help Evil Beard Brewing Finally Open Our Doors

Since as far back as I can remember, every time I discussed what I was going to be when I grew up, my father, Art Serra, would always toss that Confucius quote at me, “choose a job that you love, and you’ll never have to work a day in your life”. Whether it was being a pro skateboarder when I was 12, or later on when me and a few of my buddies were going to tour the world in our “punk” band, he never once tried to tell me that it wasn’t possible. He was always incredibly supportive. To the point he built a half pipe in our side yard, and even cleaned out his garage so my band had a place to practice.
As with most people though, I got older and those ambitious dreams sort of faded into other life adventures and responsibilities. I have been extremely fortunate and have an amazing family. However, that desire, and the wise words from my dad, still had me holding out hope that I might one day find myself in a position to make a go at a “job that you love”.
So, in 2014 my brother Nick and I, who had both become interested in home brewing, challenged one another to take our love of craft beer to the next level. That Christmas our dad gave me a savings bond that he had purchased for me when I was born and from there Nick and I began working on a business plan … Evil Beard Brewing was born.
Unfortunately, Art passed away in December of 2016 without getting to see our dream come to fruition. Nick and I, now more focused than ever, decided that the best way to honor our dad was to take the money that he left us and finally get Evil Beard Brewing off the ground and established. We invested in some commercial grade brewing equipment, found an excellent location, and put the plan in motion.
With a target launch date of spring/summer 2020 things were progressing nicely … until Covid. Everything shut down, restaurants were closed, and progress stalled. Things are just now beginning to open back up, but the setback was a huge hit to our launch budget.
In an effort to see this through, and finally open Evil Beard Brewing’s doors, we’ve set up this GoFundMe to ask for your help in making that happen. We’re so very close, but just need a little help to get us past the last 18 months. Anyway, I appreciate you taking the time to read this, and I hope to see you at our launch party.
Thanks,
