What Evie Has Faced: Six-month-old Evie is suffering from a severe, recurrent rectal prolapse accompanied by ongoing gastrointestinal upset and diarrhea. Her extensive medical history includes multiple rounds of dewormers, pain management with Gabapentin, high-dose stool softeners like Lactulose, emergency manual reductions, and a temporary purse-string suture. When the purse-string suture was removed, she had painful fecal impaction. A recent emergency visit at VEG involved a full manual deobstipation and enema, but the prolapse continues to return.
