I rescued Evie on December 2019. She was sick and weak at only 10 weeks old. After many vet visits, we thought she would get better. She had severe skin allergies which caused her to develop a tumor on her paw at 2 years old that required surgery to remove. Since then, she gets monthly injections, is groomed biweekly, takes supplements, and is on a strict diet to alleviate the skin allergies. As you can imagine, she lives a costly lifestyle... She does not qualify for pet insurance due to all of these being "pre-existing conditions". I try my best to make her comfortable and prevent other health complications.
Now at 6 years old she has weak and brittle teeth. I brush her teeth often, soften her food and avoid giving her hard treats. At her annual vaccine appointment in early March, the vet noticed she had a fractured molar. I had already planned to make another vet visit to address it, but I was lacking the funds to do so. A couple of weeks later, I realized she was in great discomfort and there was blood on her bed. I inspected her and found she had another broken molar. After finally getting her an appointment with a vet, they have assessed she needs both teeth extracted. They also found lumps on her belly/underside that require a cytology. They suspect our recent relocation caused her to chew on a hard object to alleviate her anxiety. The consultation alone cost $230. Her surgery is scheduled for April 7th and will cost $1100. Anything would help towards getting Evie the care she needs.
