Help Evie and Andy Get Back on Their Feet
Donation protected
Hello Friends! We wish we were coming to you with a more upbeat life update.
On Saturday, as we were moving our things into our new home together, we got into a serious car accident. Evie's truck (purchased just this past January) had an issue with its breaks while we were headed down a wet road, and she lost control of the car. We swerved across the single-lane Connecticut highway back and forth until we went over the guard rail and crashed into a tree. Luckily, that tree kept us from driving over a cliff and probably saved our lives. It was a hard impact, and we were both injured.
We were taken by ambulance to the hospital. Andy is recovering from a concussion and a sprained ankle, and we are both pretty banged up and sore as you can imagine-- not to mention shaken from the experience!
(Note the tree-shaped hole in the middle).
We're both feeling extremely grateful to be alive. But this is also a major hardship for us both. The truck has been totaled, we're both facing significant medical expenses, and since we were in the middle of moving we've had to hire helpers and pay our evil landlord a fee for everyday we've needed to stay in the apartment to recuperate.
We are reaching out to our communities for help with these expenses so we can recover and get back on our feet (literally, in Andy's case). Anything helps. We are so grateful to our friends who have reached out and offered their support during this time. We love you all very, very much.
(Evie, after purchasing the truck last January).
