HELP EVICT ABUSIVE MONSTER IN LAGUNA BEACH
Donation protected
I need help evicting a man who came off as a good Christian when I rented him a room in my apartment in January 2022. He turned out to be an ex-con with a long arrest record for rape, abuse, and harassment and is now a named suspect in two ongoing cases of elder abuse. At 72 years old, I am under constant threats from this man and fear for my safety living in my own home.
Public records check revealed he’s been arrested for rape and although he is registered as a sex offender, he isn't listed on the sex offender registry. His arrest record includes rape, wife and companion beating, felony forgery, theft, and other charges. He's dangerous.
I’m asking for public for help in evicting him from my home of 15 years. I’ve started the eviction process without an attorney and made a mistake and now must start all over. This man has threatened in the past that if I ever tried to get rid of him, he’d cause so many problems for me and others that I, too, would be evicted. He’s now making good on that promise. Public records reveal he is a habitual deadbeat tenant and has been evicted four times and on each one he dragged out the process for several months costing the landlord thousands of dollars just to get rid of him. He stopped paying utilities here in June and stopped paying rent in November 2022. I’ve now run out of what little savings I have to cover the resulting added expense and don’t have the money to fight him through this process. It looks likely that I may lose my home of 15 years because of this ex-con monster.
It’s with humility and shame that I have to ask for help getting rid of him. I depend on a $515/mo social security retirement, selling my art, dog walking, plus the income from a roommate to meet my monthly financial requirements. Ninety percent of my dog walking income ended last month with the tragic passing of my favorite Emerald Bay client. Art sales are slow. Income from this deadbeat roommate stopped in November.
My estimated costs to successfully evict my tenant is $6500 without an attorney and would cover the rent/utilities/internet expenses my tenant is refusing to pay, cost for paralegal assistance, court fees, and expenses assuming I can get him out in three months. I don’t have the $6500 it’s going to take to get rid of this abusive ex-con. As a result, I’ve been forced to set up a Go Fund Me account to help me fund this fight. I would also graciously welcome any help via Zelle payment or Venmo payment to my US Bank account.
As proof of my claims, I will gladly send copies of public records showing his criminal arrest record, court records showing four evictions he fought and eventually lost, court records listing actions taken against him including a restraining order for harassing a woman, and his petition to OC Superior court to terminate his requirement to register as a sex offender; hearing scheduled February 28, 2023.
Any money left over in the Go Fund Me account will be paid forward to local nonprofits serving Orange County victims of crime and abuse.
Humbly and respectfully,
