Hi my name is Joette Carrillo, my cousin Evette Carrillo was in a tragic car accident on August 3, 2021 while she was on her way to celebrate her birthday with her partner Candace and close friend Michele in Palm Springs, CA. Evette sustained some major injuries including a gash to her head with 10 stitches, she had to have decompressive craniectomy (surgery to relieve pressure from her brain so the swelling didn't cause further injury) She has a broken ribs, broken bones in her back and her spine is fractured. Doctors are suggesting surgery on her back putting in pins to repair them. She is currently at Desert regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA. Due to the long distance from home we are trying to get her transfered to Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, CA. Where she can have successful surgery and recover being closer to her family. She tested positive for covid and currently isn't allowed to see or be with her family. We will update as much as we find out. Right now she is in alot of pain, and resting as much as she can. Even if a prayer is all you can help with we appreciate anything and everything right now.
