HI. I am Deanna Murphy and I helped Deborah Tiumalu set up this GoFundMe for her grandchildren.

 

Evette 17, Evan 8, and Ethan 6, were involved in a devastating vehicle accident on August 7. Evette was on her way to drop the little ones at a friends house. On her way, a vehicle was approaching her head on. She swerved to get out of the way. She lost control of the car and hit a steel pole. The other car took off and left these poor children alone with their injuries. The airbag deployed and cut Evette's right eye orbit in half. Her poor younger siblings had to witness this. She sustained multiple fractures in her face including a broken nose. She also sustained multiple lacerations and blood loss. Evette has already had multiple surgeries and is facing more. This is far from over.

 

Unfortunately, the doctor's could not save her eye. She needs a new prosthesis for her eye. Her mother is a single mom and is not working at this time. With all the bills she has to cover for her family, the cost and fallout from this accident is weighing very heavy on her heart and mind. Her insurance doesn't cover any portion of a prosthetic. She desperately needs a glass eye so that the eye socket is not empty. The thought of Evette going through life with only one eye is heart-breaking. The eye she still has is also damaged. The damage is causing blurred vision and severe headaches. Doctors are diligently trying to get this eye healthy and prevent any further infections. Evette will need ongoing care, physical therapy, additional medical procedures, and along with her siblings, extensive counseling.
