Hello, my name is Justin Dickson, and I am reaching out to seek help for my father Everett. He is 67 years old and has been diagnosed with unresectable Cholangiocarcinoma, which is a very aggressive and incurable bile duct cancer. The first attempt at treating the blockage in his bile duct in Sydney failed. So he had to travel to Halifax to have the procedure corrected. Also, to make matters worse he contracted bacterial septicemia which has so far prevented the treatment of his cancer.

Everett is a kind and passionate person. He is always more concerned with helping others than himself. For years Everett volunteered as a clown for the IWK Children's Hospital Telethon. He helped by making and donating furniture to needy families. Just this week, despite his diagnosis he participated in the Santa Clause Parade in Baddeck trying to bring Christmas cheer to the town.

His diagnosis was a shock to us all. Everett has always been healthy. He was a marathon runner and competed in many events, including the Boston Marathon. He also helped to train others to compete in marathons. His late wife and my mother Lydia founded the Cape Breton Fiddlers Run Association which continues their shared passion for promoting fitness in the community.

Everett and his wife Vera are in urgent need of assistance. They live in a remote part of Cape Breton Island near Baddeck, Nova Scotia, Canada. They must travel 120 Km round trip to Sydney or 750 km round trip to Halifax, Nova Scotia, for treatment. Everett is retired with a fixed income, and Vera is no longer able to work because she must travel with Everett and take care of him at home.
