Help Evelyn Talabucon Continue Her Brave Fight Against Brain Cancer

Hi, my name is Aengela Talabucon, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my beloved mother, Evelyn S. Talabucon, a strong, resilient, and deeply loving 54-year-old woman who has been battling brain cancer for over a decade.

On April 2011, our lives changed forever when my mom was diagnosed with a Grade 3 Astrocytoma, a type of malignant brain tumor. A month later, on May 2011, she bravely underwent brain surgery. Due to the size and placement of the tumor, doctors were only able to remove about 80-90% of it to preserve her mobility. Following the surgery, she began an intense journey of chemotherapy and radiation.

On August 2016, we received devastating news: she was placed under hospice care and given 3 to 6 months to live. Despite this prognosis, our family made the decision to bring her home to the Philippines for continued treatment and support.

Miraculously, 9 years later, my mom is still with us — a true fighter and living proof of faith, love, and resilience.

A Sudden Turn: Admitted to the ICU

On September 6, 2025, what was meant to be a routine check-up turned into a medical emergency. Mama was admitted to the hospital with several serious complications:

• She could no longer swallow, and her jaw began to lock, requiring an NG tube for feeding.

• She developed a pressure ulcer, which required minor surgery.

• After surgery, she suffered pulmonary congestion, causing her oxygen levels to drop to 80%.

• She was rushed to the ICU, placed under intensive care, and had to be intubated.

On September 12, 2025, her X-rays showed a Hemothorax on her right lung. I gave consent to have it drained and Mama was rushed to the OR for an emergency procedure.

Our family is doing everything we can to support her physically, emotionally, and financially — but the mounting medical bills, long-term care needs, and ongoing hospitalizations have become overwhelming.
