Hi, my name is Evelyn Rich, and I am a Senior Mathematics major with a Secondary Education minor at Spelman College. I’m just 16 credit hours away from completing my degree, but I’ve encountered an unexpected financial obstacle that could prevent me from graduating this semester.

Because I participated in an Early College program during high school, I entered Spelman with 57 college credits already completed. Combined with the 120 credits I’ve taken during my time here, I’ve exceeded the credit hour limit for federal and institutional financial aid under the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) guidelines. This means I am no longer eligible for the funding I’ve relied on throughout college.

Now, I need help covering the cost of tuition for my last semester. I am currently student teaching and preparing for a career in education, and graduating this spring is critical to moving forward with my goals.
