01/21/2022 UPDATE: I am overjoyed to say with the Go Fund Me and outside contributions we have reached our goal!!! I am now on the transplant list Words can't express how overwhelmed I am at the outpouring of love that has been shown to me and my family. No matter what you gave or even if you couldn't but said a prayer or gave me a phone call, I thank you and my family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts❤️ Please continue to pray that I receive a heart transplant soon God is able
Hi. My name is Evelyn Spivey. I am a 63 year old wife, mother and grandmother. Writing this seems so strange right now. Those that know me, know how independent I am. I am writing because I need your help. I have been fighting heart disease for over 15 years and it is trying to get the best of me, but I refuse to accept defeat. On Thursday October 21, 2021, I was hospitalized in ICU due to Cardiac Shock. My heart was not pumping enough blood to sustain my organs. With the help of the Lord and knowledgeable doctors at Duke University Medical Center, they were able to stabalize me. Unfortunately my heart is so badly damaged that they said I only have a year to live and need a heart transplant. Right now my heart is being supported by Milrinone via a Curlin IV machine. They will not put me on the transplant list without $20,000 in an account to cover medical deductibles and medication.
I am a proud person and am not one to ask for help, but I want to live! I am asking that God touch your heart to see my need. Anything you can do will be greatly appreciated. This transplant means I will be able to live on and see my grandchildren grow up. I'll be able to take walks with my husband again. I'll be able to resume decorating and crafts. I'll be able to praise God like I desire. No matter how you are led, I thank God for you reading this and ask that you remember me in prayer for I know what prayer can do!
