My name is Evelyn, and I have dedicated the past 25 years to working as a special education assistant in our local school system. Last summer, I discovered a lump under my arm and, after getting it checked out, I received the life-changing diagnosis of Triple Negative Breast Cancer. I learned this news on the first day of school, August 11, 2025—a day that should have been filled with excitement and new beginnings. Instead, I was devastated, but I am determined to fight for my life and return to the classroom and the students I love.
Currently, I am undergoing chemotherapy and have just two treatments left out of twenty. After chemo, I will need to have breast surgery. My greatest wish is to be cancer free and to get back to doing what I love most: teaching and spending time with my family. This journey has been incredibly tough, but I am holding onto hope and the support of my community.
With my medical leave funds coming to an end, I am reaching out for help to cover my living expenses and some medical bills. Your support will help prevent my bills from piling up and allow me to focus on healing and recovery. Any contribution, no matter the amount, would mean the world to me. Thank you for standing with me during this difficult time and for helping me continue my fight.
