My name is Kristen and I am Evelyn and Doug’s daughter. As most of you know we have been through a lot as a family and throughout it all have remained strong. Last December, just days after Christmas, my mom got diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer. It’s been incredibly hard but she is such a fighter and is kicking cancers ass! Three weeks ago, the day of the once in a century ice storm, my mom had a stroke. We were told she may not be able to eat, talk, or walk again and would be in the hospital/rehab for at least a month. By the grace of God (and my mom’s stubbornness) my mom is able to walk, talk, eat, and the damage is not as bad as the doctors initially thought and she is now home already!! As things were starting to look up, life happened.. A week after my mom had her stroke, my dad got in a car accident and his car was totaled, all while my car was still in the shop leaving me unable to help. I am asking for help to get them a used car and help my parents pay for some medical bills and household bills so they are able to get to my moms numerous appointments per week and some help with bills so my dad can maybe have a little less stress and worry while caring for my mom. They are the greatest parents and grandparents in the world and they are so loved and needed in this world. Thank you for reading this and thank you for your support!!
