Help Eve Relocate to Safety and Stability

Hello, I'm Eve and I am a trans woman from West Virginia. I have recently been violently harassed and threatened at gun point at my own home. I am a recipient of sate aid healthcare, as 2 years ago I survived stage 3a metastatic testicular cancer and had limited capacity for work. In my home states last legislative session, the passed a bill to block state coverage of trans related surgeries for adults. this effectively removes surgery from required coverages for said services for private insurers, as well.

This state has tried, on several occasions in the past, attempted to put gender affirming care for transgender individuals placed on the banned practices list using copy-paste template bills from other conservative states like Texas and Kansas. I know this will continue to escalate. I had an orchiectomy as the result of cancer. While I do not miss the body parts, I now rely solely on my medicine regiment for sex hormones to keep my body functioning properly.

I do not feel like I can be safe here with all of these actual death threats and the rampant bigotry, while simultaneously being attacked from a legislative angle. I have never had a high income, as I am very likely undiagnosed neurodivergent and have never been truly accepted by the majority of these communities.

I have already bought my bus ticket for travel and will arrive in Oregon at the end of May. A relocation aid group, WERQ, have said that I need at least $3,000 to make this move relatively smooth and safe. That means housing and furnishings and food. Once I stabilize, I fully intend to seek work in activism, aid, and relief for the trans community, as it is something I am truly passionate for and find a lot of energy for. Unfortunately, the majority of my work history is in a labor intensive and homophobic/transphobic industry, back-of-house restaurant work. I have had my hours drastically reduced as an economic byproduct, paired with limited capacity after chemo therapy.

I am asking for a hand-up so that I may thrive enough to do the same for those that follow. I greatly appreciate anything that you may decide to share and I appreciate the share if you can not donate.

I leave you with a jingle and a smile because I know this is the first step in building a life worth living and growing community and compassion for me and hopefully us.

Ain't no nation like a donation
Ain't no city like generocity
Ain't gotta be a Rockafella to help a fella (or lass or others)
So get down with the kickdown and spread a little love around!

Thank you!
Eve
