Help Evans Atuick's Family Secure Their Future

Dear friends,

I am collecting funds to support the widow and children of Evans Atuick, who was a graduate student in the Department of Anthropology at the University at Buffalo (SUNY). Evans passed away of malaria on July 20, 2024 in his native Ghana while doing fieldwork for his dissertation. You may learn more about Evans here.

Evans' widow Genevieve and their two children need help to regularize their immigration status with U.S. authorities. The legal fees required for this process amount to $9,040 and the expenses for medical tests come to $1,900. I am requesting an additional $317 to defray the transaction costs charged by GoFundMe.

As one of Evans' mentors and colleagues in the Anthropology Department at UB, I am deeply grateful for any contributions of whatever size.
