Evan began his first semester at Alabama A&M University excited to start this new chapter as an AAMU Bulldog. Like so many families, his mother worked hard and invested a great deal to make sure he arrived on campus prepared with everything he would need for a successful semester.

Unfortunately, that sense of excitement and security was disrupted when someone broke into Evan’s dorm room at Foster Hall and stole many of his belongings.

While Evan was away from his room, his clothes, shoes, backpack, and brand-new MacBook Pro were taken. These were not simply personal belongings. His laptop, backpack, and other items are essential to his everyday life as a college student and to keeping up with his coursework.

Evan has reported the incident to campus safety and notified his residential staff, but in the meantime, he is left facing the difficult reality of having to replace items his family had already sacrificed to purchase once.

His mother shared that beyond the financial burden, this experience has been emotionally overwhelming. What should be a season of growth, learning, and new beginnings has instead been interrupted by frustration, hurt, and the feeling of having their hard work taken away in an instant.

We are creating this GoFundMe to help Evan and his family replace his laptop, clothing, shoes, backpack, school necessities, and other essential belongings that were stolen.

Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help relieve some of the unexpected financial pressure on this family and allow Evan to focus on what matters most right now: continuing his education and moving forward from this experience.
