Help Evan get Scleral lenses!
Anyone who knows Evan knows one of his greatest assets is his beautiful blue eyes. But sadly, his eyes have been anything but great to him. For the last year and a half especially, Evan has been dealing with a magnitude of eye problems. Most recently, he was diagnosed with Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), a condition that results from blocked oil producing glands in the eyelids, and Blepharitis, inflammation of the eyelids.
Both of these conditions has affected Evan's quality of life. In addition to severe dry eye (which, how are his eyes supposed to sparkle if they are dry?!), Evan's eyes are in near constant pain, he has insane sensitivity to light, and he can no longer drive at night. This of course has led to host of other issues, such as him not being able to attend certain social gatherings after a certain hour, or him not being able to take me to the grocery store when I am emotional and need ice cream.
After doing a bunch of research, he came across a specialist, who after several months and appointments, approved him for Scleral lenses. These are basically giant contact lenses made for people with dry eye, and protect them by saturating them with delicious fluid. Here is a video that features them, and includes someone named Vivien with amazing hair: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGdhHAZHwmI
If Evan can get these lenses, they will be an absolute game changer. He will no longer be in crazy pain, and and he'll finally get to show off his beautiful baby blues to the world again! But here is the kicker: The lenses cost $3,000, since they literally have to custom-shape the lenses to Evan's eyeballs and then make them. But most sad of all, insurance will not cover ONE CENT.
This is where we are hoping to get some help. Anyone who knows Evan knows he is darling and has the biggest heart since Jesus (he is studying to be a PA after all, which um, is there anything better???). Getting these would make such a difference for our sweet blue-eyed fella. Even if it's like 5 cents, anything will help. If you are able to, please consider donating (and sharing) so we can make Evan's dry eyes sparkle and shine again, just like they were always meant to do.
Thank you all!
