Help Evan Fight Glioblastoma

On June 17th, our lives changed in an instant. Evan, my husband of nearly 3 years, was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma (GBM) — an aggressive brain cancer. He underwent emergency surgery to remove a tumor from the left side of his brain, and now we're navigating an uncertain road ahead.

But here's what you should know about Evan: He's a gentle spirit with a heart full of joy. He's dorky in the best way possible — unafraid to be himself, which is one of the things we love most about him. He loves others so well, with genuine kindness and warmth. He loves Christmas (even in July), puppies, the Phillies, collecting records, and making people laugh with his unique sense of humor. He's the kind of person who brings light into a room and makes everyone around him feel seen and valued.

We met during the pandemic — I was in Canada, he was in the States, and borders were closed. We waited a year and a half to finally be together in person. That's the kind of love we have. And we're not giving up now.

Fighting Smart:

Evan's tumor has specific molecular markers (unmethylated MGMT, IDH1-wild) that mean standard chemotherapy alone won't be our best option. We're actively pursuing clinical trials and precision medicine treatments — newer therapies designed specifically for his tumor type. This gives us hope, but it also means seeking care beyond standard treatment, which comes with additional costs.

What We Need:

I've become Evan's full-time caregiver. Your support helps with:

Clinical trial and specialized treatment costs
Transportation to appointments (some out of state)
Living expenses while I'm unable to work
Medications and supportive care
Every dollar helps us fight this and gives Evan the best chance at survival.

Stay Connected:

I'll be sharing stories and updates about Evan on Facebook and GroupMe — moments that show who he really is, his humor, his heart, and our journey together. People have already started sending him Christmas cards, and those reminders that he's loved mean everything.
