Help Evan Achieve His Drum Corps International Dream

Donation protected
Hi, everyone!

My name is Evan, and I am beyond excited to share an incredible opportunity that has been a dream of mine for years: marching with Phantom Regiment, one of the top-performing groups in Drum Corps International (DCI)!

For those unfamiliar, DCI is essentially the major league of the marching arts — the NBA of marching band. It’s the pinnacle of excellence in this sport (yes, sport!) because of how physically and mentally demanding it is. I’ll be performing an intense 12-minute production with Phantom Regiment this summer that combines high-level music, precise marching, choreography, and even stunts — all while touring the country with amazing friends and world-class staff.

The experience of marching with Phantom Regiment isn’t just about the performances; it’s about the lifelong memories, friendships, and skills that I will carry with me forever.

My Journey to DCI
This dream started in high school when I joined the marching band as a clarinet player (an instrument not used in DCI). As my passion for the activity grew, I decided to take on the challenge of learning a new instrument — the mellophone — during my junior year. Switching to an entirely different instrument family wasn’t easy, especially since my primary instrument was the oboe, but I was determined to make it happen.

I worked tirelessly to improve, even when doubts crept in about competing at this level. Most of the people auditioning for DCI have years of experience, but I stayed committed because I knew how much this opportunity meant to me.

Now, after countless hours of practice and perseverance, I’m thrilled to have earned a spot with Phantom Regiment!

Why This Means So Much
DCI isn’t just about music or marching — it’s about challenging myself to grow physically, mentally, and emotionally. This experience will also be a huge step toward my future career as a band director, as it will not only improve my skills but also strengthen my resume.

DCI has an age limit of 22, which means my time to achieve this dream is limited. This is my moment to seize the opportunity and make it happen, and I couldn’t be more excited to be part of something so extraordinary.

How You Can Help
The total cost to march with Phantom Regiment is $6,000, which covers housing, food, instruction, and other expenses for the entire summer tour. My first deposit of $1,200 is due in just under two weeks, and I’m asking for your support to help make this dream a reality.

Every single contribution, no matter the size, brings me closer to achieving my goal. If you’ve supported me or believed in me along the way, thank you from the bottom of my heart. And if you’re able to contribute now, I can’t express how much your help means to me.

Come See Us Live!
Attached below are the tour dates and locations where Phantom Regiment will be performing this summer. If you’ve never seen a DCI show, you’re in for something truly unforgettable. Come see what it’s all about and witness the magic of the marching arts at the highest level!

Thank you so much for your kindness, support, and generosity. Together, we can make this dream come true!

Sincerely,
Evan
