My name is Salam. I am 27 years old. This GoFundMe is for my mom’s family who are trying to escape Gaza. My mom’s name is Mona. She was born and raised in Gaza. Since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza, she has lost 70+ family members in Gaza.

Her family members who remain have no future in Gaza, due to the violence and starvation caused by Israel.

This GoFundMe is to support my mom’s brother, Kareem, and his family of six.

Kareem and his wife Abeer and their four children (Shahad, Abood, Nada and Yasmine), desperately need funds to get to Egypt. It is costly to get to Egypt — the price per person ranges from 5,000 to 8,000 dollars, depending on the person you are dealing with.

Prior to the war, Kareem worked as an engineer. His wife Abeer worked in a hospital. Their futures in Gaza have been shattered. Shahad, their daughter, is seriously ill, and needs immediate medical attention. She can get this medical help in Egypt.

During the genocide, their home was destroyed. They are now living in a flat with no electricity with 41 other people. They have no food, other than onions, at this point.

The goal is to raise $30,000 to get them to Egypt as quickly as possible.

Just to make it real to you — they are on the brink of starvation. Only onions left to eat, and this will not last long. As you have seen in the news, it is nearly impossible for people in the northern part of Gaza to get aid.
