Pregnant Rawan and her toddler Children need to escape Gaza

We are raising funds to support Fadi’s family’s escape from the current violence in Gaza. They need to cross the border into Egypt in order to finally be safe. On top of the constant struggle to find food, water, and other basic resources, the Israeli army is expected to siege their area in a couple weeks (likely around April 15th). But there are very few areas left to go, and the journey there is always dangerous. If Fadi and his young family are still in Gaza when this siege happens, their fate is very uncertain.

Fadi Hasanat and his pregnant wife, Rawan, along with their young children, Ibrahem (4 years) and Sara (3 years), are in urgent need of escaping the life-threatening conditions in Gaza. The family faces the immediate danger of violence and a lack of medical care, with Rawan being seven months pregnant and the children suffering from malnutrition and constant fear.

Fadi’s family lost their home, and they were displaced to Rafah where they spent the winter in a tent where the rain was seeping through the holes of the tent. Now, in summer, they are suffering from the extreme heat without any food. They not only lost their house but their hopes and dreams. They don’t want to lose their lives too.

Fadi wants to save his children’s lives and the life of his unborn child, as well as his wife, Rawan. Rawan is 7 months pregnant and needs to give birth safely. The occupation threatens to enter Rafah where there are no hospitals or anesthesia, and they will be surrounded by tanks, with no way for them to leave. Fadi also seeks to ensure the safety of his sister, Alaa Hasanat, as well as his mother.

He aims to raise $36,000 total to cover their evacuation and start rebuilding their lives.
