I am organizing this fundraiser to help evacuate my family, who have sever members disability, out of Gaza, your help can get them out to safety.

Our story since the beginning of the war: I'm telling my story

My name is Zainab Abunada, I am 20 years old. I am supposed to be in my third year of medical school at Al-Azhar University in Gaza.

My family and I have been forcibly displaced four times, the last of which was to Rafah on the 11/12/2023, where we moved to a classroom with 40 other people.

I have a sister, Fatma, and two brothers, Ali and Mohammad, who have an incompleteness in brain development since birth. The condition was diagnosed through a CT scan of the brain for Fatima at Al-Shifa Hospital, and another for Mohammad at Al-Makassed Hospital.

However, their medical reports remained at our house, which was completely burned down.

My siblings suffer from a lack of cognitive awareness, inability to speak, and inability to go to use the toile independently. Ali and Mohammad cannot chew food and need it to be blended. They also suffer from difficulty in walking and moving.

We moved from the north to the south, and my father carried my brother Mohammad on his back in the safe passage area, where we stayed for about an hour and a half. My mother and I held my sister's hand and walked with her, while my brother Ali was on a cart over our clothes, being pushed by my cousin.

My siblings suffer from difficulty moving during the war, making it hard to take them to the bathroom to bathe them. We also struggle with a lack of medications in case they get sick, a shortage of adult diapers, and a scarcity of food and medical supplies for them.

My mother and I often have to do a lot of laundry by hand due to the limited facilities in the classroom to constantly clean and change my siblings' diapers.

We suffer from a lack of privacy when sleeping, eating, changing clothes, showering, and even combing hair as a person of the faith, as we can't find a suitable place for these activities.

I am trying to be selfless right now, not to think about myself, not to allow myself to feel scared, this journey has been truly terrifying and I am pushing everything inside because I don’t have another choice other than be there for my family. I can’t even allow myself to think about my education and how my university is completely whipped out of existence, we lost our home, and god know what will happen next.

What you can do to help us:

In order for us to leave the strip we need to coordinate with the travel agency Yahala, and we need to pay a hefty amount of money, an amount that we category do not poses, we also need to sustain our lives once we are out of Gaza.

Please find a breakdown of the usage of the fund:

- Travel fees with Yahala agency, 5000 per adult and 2500 per minor under the age of 16, we are five adults and one minor 27500$

- Living costs in Egypt for a family of 6, for six months = 4050$

- GFM fees 2.9% + .30$ per donation 915.25$

- Grand total = 32465$ = 30192€
