I am a cancer survivor, but the journey hasn’t ended for me. The targeted radiation that helped me beat cancer left me with Radiation Necrosis—a condition where my organs and tissue are dying from the inside out. It’s incredibly painful, and I receive hyperbaric oxygen treatment four days a week, two hours each day. Living on a fixed income, I struggle to keep up with the costs of my medical care and daily life.
Recently, my car broke down, and I had to spend a significant amount just to keep it running. I rely on my car to get to treatments and doctor’s appointments, but it still needs a lot of work: the rear passenger strut is bad, the shift sensor is going out, the A/C doesn’t work, and the hood blew up while driving, cracking the windshield. Because of these repairs, I’ve fallen behind on my rent and insurance payments. My food stamps have been cut, and my flexible spending card dropped, which I must use for incontinence supplies not covered by insurance. My electric bill is due, and I have no idea how I’m going to pay it.
I’m reaching out because I need help to get through this difficult time. Any support, big or small, would mean the world to me and help me keep fighting. Thank you for reading my story and considering a donation.
