Ethyl is a four-year-old cat who has become a beloved part of the community. She spends her days enjoying her outdoor catio, greeting neighbors, and bringing smiles to everyone who passes by. Ethyl’s gentle and friendly nature has made her a favorite among residents, who often stop to pet her and share a moment of joy.

Recently, Ethyl’s health took a sudden turn. Around two weeks ago, she became noticeably weaker and more tired than usual. Concerned, I took her to the vet, where an ultrasound revealed a large ureter obstruction caused by a kidney stone (she has many kidney stones, a condition the vet says is likely genetic). Realistically, the only way forward is an urgent surgery called a Subcutaneous Ureteral Bypass (SUB system). This is a complex procedure, but would be the only way that Ethyl can continue to live.

The cost of Ethyl’s surgery, along with the necessary follow-up care, medications, and fluids, is overwhelming.

I have made this to give Ethyl the chance to recover and return to the community that loves her.
