Ethikli was founded on the belief that a better food system is possible — one that’s ethical, low-waste, vegan, and community-driven. From the very beginning, we’ve been self-funded. No investors, no corporate backers. Just passion, grit, and a vision for something better.
I poured everything I had into this shop, even the small bit of personal savings I set aside, to try to keep it alive. But that’s now gone. I’ve been fighting so hard to keep Ethikli alive, but the truth is I don’t have the resources to keep pushing the way I have. With endless fees, tariffs, red tape, and the constant fight against cheap, exploitative labor, the odds are stacked against small businesses like ours.
So we’ve set a firm deadline: October 31st will be our last day in our current space unless we find a buyer or investor to carry the mission forward. Ideally, we’d love to see Ethikli live on with someone who believes in its legacy.
In the meantime, this fundraiser is for those who’ve asked how they can help. Your contributions will help us:
- Cover labor costs and operating expenses
- Keep the lights on until our last day (or longer, if a buyer/investor steps in)
- Pay down some debts and give our small team breathing room to transition
Even if you can’t donate, sharing this campaign or shopping with us in these final weeks helps tremendously.
Ethikli has never just been a store. Together, we’ve taken hundreds of thousands of dollars out of billionaires’ pockets and put it back into our community. We’ve supported ethical makers, uplifted marginalized neighbors, fed unhoused folks, and proven that people do want a food system that nourishes instead of exploits.
None of this would have been possible without you. Thank you for standing with us, for believing in this mission, and for proving that another way is possible.
